What is Connections?

Connections is a word game from the New York Times where you find the “common thread” between four words. Each puzzle has 16 words, grouped into four categories. The categories can be anything from book titles to country names.

How to Play

  • Group the four words in each category that share something in common.
  • Only one answer is correct.
  • You get four mistakes before the game ends.
  • You can rearrange the board to make it easier to find connections.
  • The categories are color-coded: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple.
