Hollywood’s Future and AI

After arriving with a canine companion, BAFTAs host David Tennant delivered a hilarious opening monologue that touched on Saltburn, the entertainment industry, and the impending presidential race.

“It’s been a rocky year for the film industry with all the strikes,” Tennant quipped. “But I asked BAFTA, ‘Is the future looking bright for screenwriters and actors?’ And they said, ‘Aye!’ Or maybe they meant ‘AI’…”

A Dig at Trump

Later, Tennant took a subtle jab at the upcoming U.S. elections.

“Ladies and gentlemen, introducing ‘Poor Things,'” he announced. “A film where a child’s brain is placed in an adult’s body. And later this year, one of those may even be elected president again.”
