Avoiding Unwanted Pitches

Larry David, the creator of the popular TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm, shared his tactics for dealing with strangers who approach him with unsolicited ideas for the show or requests for selfies. He explained that the Writers’ Guild forbids him from hearing pitches from people outside the show’s writing team. When someone tries to pitch an idea to him, he simply says, “The Writers’ Guild forbids me from hearing pitches from other people.”

Dodging Selfie Requests

David also revealed his strategy for avoiding selfie requests. He politely tells people that he can’t take pictures outside. When he’s indoors, he says, “You know what, I can’t take pictures inside.” He admitted that this approach started out well, but eventually, he found it difficult to keep a straight face while saying it.
