Connections is the New York Times’ latest word game that’s become a social media sensation. The game challenges players to find the “common threads between words.”

How to Play Connections

  • The game features 16 words split into four categories.
  • Players must group the words that share something in common.
  • If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board.
  • Players get up to four mistakes before the game ends.
  • The categories are color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
  • Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier.
